Market Square

On the Grote Markt, you are in the very heart of the city. Feel free to hang around (plenty of famous Antwerp cafés), and have a good look around in every direction. Those fantastic guild houses and city hall are world heritage.

Het Steen

Cathedral of our Lady

After 169 years of construction the cathedral of Antwerp finally dominated Antwerp's skyline in 1521 with a height of 123 metres. It's the highest Gothic building in the Low Countries.

The Port House

Together with a striking and contemporary superstructure in the shape of a diamond - a monumental design of the famous architect Zaha Hadid, the building makes up the entire Port House. As such, it is a metaphor for the port of the 21st century: a port with a rich history that is ready to face the future head-on.

The Rubens House

In the heart of Antwerp is the home of Peter Paul Rubens, the famous 16th-17th--century Baroque painter. For four hundred years, he and his work have been a source of inspiration and a reference. And to think that he created the bulk of his work in this house.
